eCommerce and the Internet

Electronic commerce consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. It is more than just buying and selling products online. It also includes the entire online process of developing, marketing, selling, delivering, servicing and paying for products and services. The amount of trade conducted electronically has grown extraordinarily with widespread Internet usage. The use of commerce is conducted in this way, spurring and drawing on innovations in electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems. Modern electronic commerce typically uses the World Wide Web at least at some point in the transaction's lifecycle, although it can encompass a wider range of technologies such as e-mail, mobile devices and telephones as well.

Electronic commerce involves the selling and buying of products through the use of internet. As we may notice, almost all of us are using internet in terms of communication and buying a products. Some common applications for these are online banking,online office suites,shopping cart software,teleconferencing,electronic tickets.That's how important ecommerce is.

The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies.
Now adays, almost all use the internet. For communication, for studying, for business and some for applications.

The Internet can now be accessed almost anywhere by numerous means, especially through mobile Internet devices. Mobile phones, datacards, handheld game consoles and cellular routers allow users to connect to the Internet from anywhere there is a wireless network supporting that device's technology. Within the limitations imposed by small screens and other limited facilities of such pocket-sized devices, services of the Internet, including email and the web, may be available. Service providers may restrict the services offered and wireless data transmission charges may be significantly higher than other access methods.

Hyper Text Markup Language

HTML which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language, is the predominant markup language for web pages. HTML is the basic building-blocks of webpages.The purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and compose them into visual or audible web pages. The browser does not display the HTML tags, but uses the tags to interpret the content of the page.

As a BSBCM students, html is an appliation for all websites.It allows allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms . It provides a means to create structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. It can embed scripts in languages such as JavaScript  which affect the behavior of HTML webpages.

Without html, a website will not be informative,presentable and cannot be recognized. It is important for a student like us for it involves the use of computers and will enable us to make a web page presentable.Without this, web page is surely impossible to exist.

Management Information System

This is a system that provides information needed to manage organizations effectively. Management information systems involve three primary resources: Technology, Information, and People. It's important to recognize that while all three resources are key components when studying management information systems, the most important resource is people.

It is an organized approach to the study of the information needs of an organization's management at every level in making operational, tactical, and strategic decisions. Its objective is to design and implement procedures, processes, and routines that provide suitably detailed reports in an accurate, consistent, and timely manner.

 Information System is a combination of information technology and and people's activities using that technology to support operations, management. In a very broad sense, the term information system is frequently used to refer to the interaction between people, data and technology.

Information System plays a crucial role in business when it comes to business process and operation. It helps the managers to conduct their daily activities and functions properly. Furthermore, it helps to conduct activities like account creating, and withdrawal of money with the help of soft wares. It also supports decision making for employees and managers. It also supports in making strategis decision for competetive advantages.

To sum up, information system is very important to business. It is where the input, process and output take place. It serves as a guide for business workers to be responsible enough in making decisions and performing their jobs. Just imagine when you are handling a business without the application of information technology, a business will have least improvements.Why? beacause it can be used for strategic success of the company.
